John Cannon


FOUNDING PARTNER

John serves as the General Partner of Spring Rock Capital’s investment funds, and the Chairman of Alert Alarm Hawaii, SMG Security, and Commercial Alarm Systems. More recently, John also served as the CEO of Alert Alarm Hawaii from 2009-2017. That role included a move to Hawaii with his family during the same time frame that only recently had him returning to Chicago in a return to his more investment-oriented background in the years prior to Alert Alarm Hawaii. Immediately preceding the formation of Spring Rock Capital in 2009, John was a Managing Director for Silver Point Capital, having opened and co-headed the Chicago office of the $7 billion Greenwich-based hedge fund. John’s involvement in a number of diverse transactions at Silver Point Capital, when combined with his prior roles at American Capital Strategies and Waud Capital Partners, yielded approximately $1 billion of investments in over 20 platform companies for those funds. John’s involvement in those investments included all aspects of the investment process: deal sourcing, negotiation, deal execution, portfolio management and board oversight. In addition to his role as Chairman of the Board for each of Spring Rock Capital’s portfolio companies, John serves on the Board of Directors for City Mill, one of Hawaii’s leading companies founded in the late 1800’s, and served on the Board of Trustees of LeJardin Academy for 7 years, most recently as Chairman of the Board of Trustees from 2014-2016. John has also served since 2010 on the Board of Directors of NetOne International, an elite network of over 30 of the industry’s leading security companies. John is a graduate of the University of Illinois and lives in Western Springs, Illinois with his wife and four kids.

Roger Savage


OPERATING PARTNER

Roger currently is the President of Alert Alarm Hawaii, which is the largest security provider in the state of Hawaii with approximately 150 employees and over 30,000 customers. Prior to joining Alert Alarm Hawaii, Roger was President of a company/division that transitioned ownership under Roger’s leadership from Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) to American Capital and finally Illinois Tool Works (NYSE: ITW). The company/division generated $200 million in sales with 11 manufacturing facilities, three research and development centers located on five continents supplying electronic materials to the largest electronic manufacturing companies worldwide. Prior to being President of the organization, Roger spent a total of 20 years living in Singapore and was responsible for the Asia Pacific region and accomplished the acquisition of a competitor in Japan, started manufacturing operations in Malaysia, China and Taiwan and grew at a consistent growth rate of 18% per year. Over the years Roger has served on various community boards and associations that include President of the Singapore American Association, Vice President American Club of Singapore, President of the Electronic Materials Council for solder manufacturers, Hawaii Executive Association and Make-A-Wish Foundation. Roger went to Depauw University and attended executive leadership programs at Harvard University and the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania.

Barry Uphoff


ADVISOR

Barry Uphoff is a Partner with Capricorn Investment Group. At Capricorn, Barry leads the investment team with a particular focus on healthcare and wellness investing. Prior to joining Capricorn, Barry was a senior investment professional at Silver Point Capital, a Greenwich, Connecticut-based hedge fund with approximately $7 billion in total assets under management. Prior to Silver Point, Barry was a Director with Trivest, where he led the firm’s healthcare investing activities. Prior to Trivest, Barry was a founding Partner of Diamond Management Consultants, where he led the firm’s global healthcare and strategy practices. Barry earned his BA from the Johns Hopkins University with highest honors and Phi Beta Kappa distinction and read for a Diploma in Law and an MSc in Medicine at Oxford University under the auspices of a Rhodes Scholarship. He received an MBA from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business with highest honors.
